  • Desperately Seeking Self - Care

I’ve been listening to the podcasts through Facebook since our church completed the Heaven study and I attended the Heaven conference in Florida. And we also did the Pray study

which included Around that time I began walking

at my local beach 3-4 days a week. I listen to these podcasts and others as part of my long overdue self care. I am healthier and more balanced as a result. Thank you Jennifer and KC and guests for one of my favorite podcasts.

  • Thanks

I’m new to your podcast but not your Bible Studies.

I’ve listened to the first 9, I believe. And girl, I think we would be fast friends.

Like you one of my biggest fears was loosing my daddy. I lost him to ALS. He was so brave. He is my hero.

Like you, A Bible given to me by my parents at age 17 is what I chose to represent a precious possession. Reasons: it’s Gods word, it represents my parents, and all the mark ups in the Bible represent my relationship with Jesus. (From Courage)

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#405: Can I Determine if I'm Kinda Judgy? With Shannon Popkin
Q: What is our first step if we're feeling conviction for judgmental attitudes?
The recommended first step is to encounter the merciful judge—draw near to Jesus, let him draw the lines, and practice mercy rather than relying on a self-made rulebook.
#405: Can I Determine if I'm Kinda Judgy? With Shannon Popkin
Q: Okay, but what did Jesus mean by that? Not to judge.
The host and Shannon discuss that Jesus means not to judge with the same harshness or hypocritical standard, emphasizing mercy and humility as the framework for discernment rather than a rigidity that condemns others.
#406: Can I Use Biblical Self-Talk to Talk to Myself? With Jon Gauger
Q: Why did you write about self-talk, and how did your own experiences shape the book?
The topic emerged from personal struggle and the realization that Scripture can recalibrate the mind; the book grew from witnessing how memorized verses helped during tough times, including health crises and professional challenges.
#406: Can I Use Biblical Self-Talk to Talk to Myself? With Jon Gauger
Q: What is self-talk, and is it something only a few people do?
Self-talk is the continuous inner monologue that everyone has; the key is whether its content aligns with truth and Scripture, which can be trained to become more constructive.
#407: Can I Let Go of What's Keeping Me From Soul Revival? With Lisa Whittle
Q: How did you experience that coming out of dryness and moving into soul revival?
It wasn't instant, but obedience opened the way: confessing what needed confessing, stopping a habit, and taking practical next steps helped the renewal to unfold over time rather than as a single dramatic moment.
