  • Superb!

12 Points from America is such a good podcast! The group’s real love of the contest shines through and they treat it with respect while still having fun with all the out there aspects. Being a fan since the late 70s (yes, I’m old!) I really appreciate the knowledge of the older contests. Just wonderful!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 301: James Stephenson on “The Model” and More
Q: How did you come up with The Model and what inspired its development?
I believed it was possible to predict Eurovision outcomes by aggregating diverse data sources—odds, polls, song statistics, and historical trends—and iterating on the model until it consistently called the winner. The belief grew through years of observing patterns and refining the approach, culminating in a public release that could be tested against real results.
Episode 300: A Colossal Bag of Mail
Q: If you could perform at Eurovision, regardless of talent, what country would you represent and what would your act look like?
Participants offer a range of playful answers from Lithuania for heritage to Vatican for a church-vocalist piece, with a preference for big, splashy debuts from debuting countries and a willingness to push creative boundaries while acknowledging practical limits and cultural sensitivities.
Episode 279: Damon Karakin on Lightsound and Beyond
Q: Would you consider re-entering Eurovision with a song from Lithuania?
Yes, I'd love to take a chance at it again, especially if we feel supported by many people.
Episode 279: Damon Karakin on Lightsound and Beyond
Q: What has it been like to rebuild your career in Lithuania?
It's been a refreshing experience; we feel more freedom creatively and have received wonderful support.
Episode 279: Damon Karakin on Lightsound and Beyond
Q: Can you tell us about the song you performed in Eurovision and the changes made?
The original version had more of a rock edge, but it was changed to a pop arrangement that we felt lost its charm.
