民國 36 年，城中市場巷子裡有一台推車。賣冰的阿公愛吃甜食，覺得舶來品的冰淇淋太貴，乾脆自己做、自己賣、自己吃。沒想到這一做，就做出了四百多種口味 - - 麻油雞、滷豬腳、芥末、花椒，甚至蟹肉。客人說得出來，他就做得出來。
