  • Basically perfect. Definitely listen to this all the time.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so thoroughly charmed and amused by a podcast in my life. Subscribing has never been such an easy choice and I doubt it ever will be again.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Undead Ducks
Q: Was there anything you found particularly challenging with reaching out to people or getting them to understand what the game is?
The biggest challenge has been marketing and getting broader reach; once people see videos and demos, the concept tends to click, but spreading the brand and finding efficient outreach strategies takes time and money.
Undead Ducks
Q: Can I ask, did you have any like resources or support with that whole Kickstarter process?
We mostly went in blind, did our own research, and looked at successful campaigns to learn what worked, relying on a mix of self-guided learning and a few PDFs, with the understanding that we needed to build up knowledge as we progressed.
802: Better an Isopod than a Capitalist
Q: Who are you and what is Isopod about?
Junebug explains that Isopod is a 3D platformer about a rolling bug protagonist fighting back against a capitalist invader, emphasizing teamwork with other bugs to push back against oppression.
795: The Island Episode
Q: How did the concept of Isle of Feathers first come out, and what sparked it?
The idea grew from Daniel's background with birds and animals and a gradual realization that turning that interest into a board game could work; the duo prototyped with paper, then refined through collaboration and testing, while being influenced by friends and local Brisbane game developers for playtesting and feedback.
795: The Island Episode
Q: Has Isle of Feathers drifted much from the original idea?
Yes, the core concept of a tile-laying, bird-themed game has stayed, but many mechanics and the presentation have evolved to create a more puzzly and tactile experience while preserving the bird-on-island theme.
