今回は、22年連続漁獲量日本一という「ホッキ貝（北寄貝）」にかぶりつき。特に「ホッキカレー」が地元の人や観光客にも人気。苫小牧市の農業水産振興課、伊藤さんに電話でお話を伺いました。
三重県伊勢志摩で有名なあこや真珠の「貝柱」
この時期だけこのアコヤ貝の「貝柱」が食べられるそうです。噛むと貝の旨味が溢れるコリコリ食感の珍味。原田アナは以前かき揚げで食べたそうです。
