所謂的「人」，事實上是人生的歷程，而不是我們觀念中的你、我、他。想要改變人，其實是一件很辛苦的事。當你想改變對方的時候，對方也正準備改變你。最有趣的就是，你不認為你有錯，他也不認為他有錯，最後彼此都沒什麼改變。所以與其告訴對方「你哪裏不好，你哪裏應該改」，倒不如在生活當中，把你們相處的過程改變一下。所以，如果你想改變你的下屬或上司，或想改變你的親人或朋友，改變「歷程」就可以了。改變過程，品質就會改變，人就會改變。不要想著抽象的觀念──我、你、他，或者想著品質，實際做的就是那個「歷程」。

朋友們肯定聽過心靈講座、或者宗教講座，但是，聽再多的道理都沒有用，「改變」才是最重要！我們總認為自己可以不改變，其實那是一個錯誤的想法。當你在路上開車或走路，你不願改變速度，可是當別人的車速改了，事實上你已經改了。世界時時刻刻都在變，沒有可以保持的現狀，這就是現實。什麼都在改變，並且改變從現在開始改變起。那麼，與其別人變、你跟著變，不如自己好好的變。

唯有願意面對困難，才有機會了解困難如何起，進而明白解決困難的方法。我們要發現引發困難、造成困難的原因是什麼，所以，改變或消除困難的原因，就能改變或消除困難。消除困難的原因，不會一步到位；不能消除，就改變它。改變它以後，困難的方式、困難的內容也會跟著改變。如果你現在沒辦法消除困難，千萬別放棄，做點什麼，就會改變！最後，要確立改變或消除導致困難原因的行動步驟，這個確立了，才有所謂的行動指南。這四個步驟，在解決任何困難上，都是準則。在我們現實的人生，每個人都是這麼解決問題的。
