無論是何種宗教，倘若對信仰者在認識生命、在對待生命沒有正面的引導、在面對生命歷程經歷的一切沒有正確、成熟的教導，那麼該宗教對信仰者而言是不會有真正的幫助。無論哪一種宗教的教說，主角應當是「生命」，如果某種宗教的重心悖離了「生命」，那麼該宗教的一切行為，只是「追求成功的宗教事業」而已。如此一來，宗教世界便會充斥無盡的明爭暗鬥，將會光明微弱而黑暗盛大。一個修行的人，特別是出家人，必須努力調伏追求成功的悸動，才不會走到「追求成功的宗教事業」之岔路上。

真正的涅槃不是五陰滅盡、不生的涅槃，而是結縛與苦滅盡、不生的涅槃。聖者已證得結縛及苦滅盡、不生的涅槃，但沒有滅盡五陰。因為聖者所行為聖道，此與五趣輪轉的緣起不相應，所以解脫的聖者不再輪迴。 世尊的真實教法是既證得解脫、涅槃，也不離開現實世間；雖不離開世間，卻不在天、人、地獄、餓鬼、畜牲的五趣輪轉裏。 世尊及 世尊的教法，已證解脫、涅槃的阿羅漢及人間僧團，皆重視現實世間，並且慈悲度化世間。真實的佛法從未有小乘、大乘，也沒有偏於自利或利他。 世尊的教法是依於緣起法、緣生法，故 世尊的教法絕不是厭離世... more
部派佛教的教法主要是源自於阿育王時代分別說部的異說，認為 世尊與阿羅漢解脫、涅槃了，就已經不在這個世間，所以後世把這個涅槃稱為灰身滅智，這是外道的教說。這也是目前佛教產生一個錯誤看法的緣由：認為阿羅漢是小乘人，因為他們解脫、涅槃了以後就沒有了，不理苦難的世間。於是，有一群佛弟子提出另一種修正的佛法，叫做菩薩道。菩薩道把之前錯誤的佛教(部派佛教)稱為小乘，而把自己稱為大乘。可是所謂的大乘還是有問題，因為他們認定的解脫、涅槃，也是從這個世間消失，什麼都沒有。所以菩薩道只好提倡「我不證涅槃」，如果我不... more
「佛法」不是哲思理論，而是回應眾生的實際苦難與需求，佛教是在人間發展，也必然是回應世間度越苦難的需要，僧團在人間發展，必然離不開僧團與世人的生命交涉。因此，當脫離了生活，脫離了世間，必然不是 世尊的本懷。世人在一生的努力，主要是三件事：解決實際面對的困難、開展人生的道路、度越自他的苦惱。這是每個人從生到死，天天都要面對及努力的三件大事。 世尊的教法根本，也是讓僧人或居家弟子能藉由修學佛法，得以在生活中體現「解決困難、開展人生、度越煩惱」。
