天下沒有白吃的午餐！任何事情都有成本。許多人只想「開心、舒服過日子」，但他從不曾想過成本從哪裡來？所謂「成本從哪裡來」，這還是在講物質成本；那時間成本呢？時間成本得從自己有限的一生當中來扣除！我們看社會上所謂的高端人士，他們之所以在工作、學習、運動等各方面取得成就，是因為他們都對自己進行非常嚴謹的管理。我們付出的成本高，當然收益就大，這是必然的。這個收益不一定是金錢跟房地產，而是生命的收穫！

人間歲月不久常，就像「早上太陽剛出來的時候，還沾著露水的翠綠樹葉，摘下來，然後到了傍晚，就已經乾黃了」一般，非常的短暫！所以行道必須及時，不然就來不及了。當人生已經到了最後一波時，千萬不要再浪費時間，再浪費時間就完了。趁人生的最後一階段要一鼓作氣，要利用殘餘的時間，努力做該做、能做的事。如同點蠟燭一般，在生命的最後一刻，依然是亮著！
學習 世尊緣起、緣生教法的人，是務實而實際的。依著「緣起、緣生」的智見而適當回應現實，解決問題、開展人生。生活中最怕的就是「只想要過得輕鬆一點」的生活態度，好比「我的生活不想有問題、不想累、不想麻煩」，學習正法的人，不要有這種不務實際、不可取的態度！做為 世尊的弟子，或者想作為世間苦難眾生助力的人，不能以這種怕麻煩、怕囉唆、怕累、怕問題的慣性模式回應。
一件事情的成就，非一朝一夕可及，不妨以五年、十年、二十年的時間來看一件事。生命之路很長，得穩紮穩打，務實實際。做事要踏實實際，做人則要珍惜感謝，但也不要太眷戀，因為終須一別。
珍惜眼前的緣分，要懂得珍惜與身邊人的緣分。有緣相見，「相見」非「再見」，相見已非原來的彼此。因為有緣相見，所以不必眷戀；因為不會再見，所以務必珍惜。珍惜、感謝眼前的緣分是因為不會再見；不必眷戀是因為有緣會相見。如果大家能夠明白，內心便能豁達了！
