As a wine person, I got you, Jamie :) During these 500 Days of Summer, be sure to tune in to You’re Gonna Need a Bigger Bottle (Jaws is the best). Listen to the unscripted and genuine, affectionate banter between two best friends discussing movies they’ve paired with wine. Get Out of the house and walk while you listen or better yet, road trip and just Drive. Best film reference yet was “time to put away childish things” from the OG 1992 Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, props to Scott. The Miyaza... more
This show is a delightful fount of the kind of intellectual bickering that is born from knowing each other so well and for so long. And sometimes they even learn from each other. Not sure this will count, but I really want Jamie to watch Thor: Ragnarock, and preferably with someone other than me. So here’s a “new review” in which I will also remind everyone this is a great goddamn podcast and you should definitely listen to it, because these beautiful idiots are hilarious and knowledgeable (knowledgeable idiots…it’s a thing, tell your friends), and we all need more of them in our lives.
So fun to listen to you almost forget you’ve picked up a lot of information and some solid recommendations for both movies AND Wines along the way. more
I am amazed at every episode how fantastic this concept has proven to be. I’ve known Jamie for a while and never thought he was this interesting but knew he had a fantastic palate and his knowledge and energies were unparalleled when it comes to wine. What this pod has really demonstrated is just how well rounded he really is and, it appears, that this S2H chap is pretty intrinsic too. It takes a lot of energy to put these out and I’m just enthralled at how much fun they’ve turned out to be. more
