  • Binge This, Also

This is a new discovery for me. A great one! Great talks. Well produced. I'm a new-ish improv student and a long time fan of many of the guests. The conversations are very helpful to anyone looking to perform and fun and engaging enough for non improvisers. My only beef, the show cuts off and makes you listen on another platform.

  • Fantastic!!

Hi all, just such a lovely show and has really helped my journey as an improviser. Would there be ant chance of getting Brennan Lee Mulligan on at some point?

  • Best Podcast Ever

One of the best Improv podcasts out there. Not only do they cover the history of improv comedy by interviewing the most important people in the genre but they also provide the most valuable insights on how to become a better improviser. Well worth the listen.

  • Great conversations about an elusive art

Susie does a great job of following the conversation where it wants to go while also asking incisive questions. (One completely unnecessary “correction”: the note Mantzoukas referred to about “go to the big dance right away” I remember coming not from Armando but from Scot Armstrong. Scot said Feature Feature fell into that same trap a few times. I include it only to give Scot his props!)

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Yes, Also - Lou Wilson
Q: Simeon says, as someone who actually started improv classes partly because of playing D&D, have tabletop RPGs been a big part of your improv journey?
I was fully baked when it came to D&D; I learned it through improv and found it complements Dimension 20 by sharpening character focus and the 'what else is true' mindset, which then informs how I approach improv scenes.
Yes, Also - Madeline Evans - LIVE from Atlanta
Q: What are some of the key formats or innovations you created or adapted that have stuck with you?
She discusses the Bilkis format (a deconstructed Harold) and transformation exercises, plus a philosophy of narrative-driven scenes with room for game and connection, which she teaches in her classes.
Yes, Also - Madeline Evans - LIVE from Atlanta
Q: I wanna start, we're gonna reverse and get your origin story; how did you get into Atlanta's improv scene?
Madeline describes growing up in Chicago, moving to Atlanta as a young adult, and being drawn into improv through school and local theater groups, ultimately building a network that became Road Trip and MadsJoy; she emphasizes mentoring others and creating spaces where people feel seen and supported.
Yes, Also - Jet Eveleth
Q: When you were in Chicago, you were on The Reckoning, one of the all-time great teams—do you find that you gravitate toward playing characters or do you improvise as yourself?
Jet says she's always playing characters because that lets her access bigger opinions and deeper desires; she explains that her on-stage self isn't the same as her off-stage identity and that character work is essential for her energy and storytelling.
Yes, Also - Gareth Reynolds
Q: What's the difference, in practice, between performing with a stable Herald team and joining a mashup with unfamiliar players?
The guests discuss comfort levels, the challenge of keeping scenes alive with new teammates, the importance of finding a shared language quickly, and how trust and group history influence the quality of long-form scenes.
