아이슬란드 남동부 베스트라혼은 검은 모래해변과 바이킹 마을이 있는 명소. 옆 흐발네스 등대와 765m 에이스트라혼 산이 쌍둥이처럼 마주 보며, 동부 세이디스피요르드는 무지개 거리·파란 교회·월터의 상상 촬영지로 연인들의 성지.
아이슬란드 동부의 작은 어촌 회픈(인구 2천명 미만)은 3면이 바다인 자연 항구로, 남동부의 중심지 역할을 한다. 베스트라호른산 등 명소가 많아 2박 추천. 6~7월엔 랑구스틴(작은 랍스터) 축제가 열리며, 1932년 오픈한 팍후스 레스토랑이 유명하다. 민속박물관 감나부드도 볼거리.
