釣り雑誌の企画で「テンカラで何魚種釣れるか？」という連載にて、淡水を越えて海水にまでテンカラロッドを持ち出して魚を狙った吉田毛鉤。
魚どころかイカだったり、対象の生き物に合わせて巻いた毛鉤の数々。
そんな師匠の背中を見た僕らも、ついに海に出たのであった。
海というフィールドでテンカラ遊びを楽しむ中でのフィーリングや、SAKURAの釣竿”金剛”の可能性を紐解く1時間。
僕らの遊びは無限大で”僕らのテンカラ”には禁漁という概念は無かったのだ。
福島・会津にある自然栽培米農家さんの研修施設。移動中のラジオ収録から福島到着後のご飯までしゃべり続け、フライング気味に始まった今回の収録。メインは、生産担当・野沢さんが温めていた新作Gram Jacketのお披露目。生地、縫い方、裾のコードの位置まで一新した新作を、代わる代わる羽織っては「肌触りが全然違う」「裏返しても綺麗」と興奮が止まらない。ベトナムの縫製工場でのやり取りや、糸の重さまで測って軽量化を突き詰めた開発秘話、気づけば同じ話を30分繰り返していた会津の夜。
OMM LITE/BIKEを終え、川越の温泉へ向かう帰り道。土砂降りのレースで思い出した、水たまりを避けなかった頃の感覚。雨に打たれながら遊ぶ気持ちよさ、静かで賑やかな雨の山、大雨の中で音楽を聴いた記憶。
後半は、今回も活躍したOMMのHalo Jacketから、レインウェアの役割、サムホールへのこだわり、ベスト型ウェアの素晴らしさまで。雨に濡れ、ギアを語り、脱線しながら最後は温泉へ駆け込む夜。
OMM LITE/BIKEを終え、焼肉で腹を満たした帰り道。今回活躍したウェアや秋冬ギア、山で食べる焼肉とハンモック泊、バイクパッキングのこだわりギアについて。
そこから旅に憧れるきっかけになった『深夜特急』やチェ・ゲバラの若かりし日、AI、人間の仕事と遊び、恋愛、戦争、ワニ、宇宙人へと脱線。最後は白馬でのクライミング、OMMの準備期間の楽しさ、次なるアドベンチャーレースについて語る夜。
