As someone studying psychology it was so nice to hear that there is actual science behind what we might call witchcraft! I loved hearing about how the little things we do each day can actually help us become better versions of ourselves once we realize we might be the inner saboteur. So looking forward to listening to more of these podcasts on my commute and taking the time to put intention into practice (:
I love the concept that skepticism is actually a good thing. I’m a scientist, it’s quite literally my job to always be skeptical and keep asking questions. That often applies to my spiritual practice as well, which, having grown up in a Christian household, is of course a big no-no since you’re supposed to have blind faith. But with witchcraft, we get to do our own little spiritual science experiments to figure out what we do and don’t believe. We get to be our own experts on the topic, and we’l... more
Just finished listening to the episode on skepticism and I feel so much better about my journey. As a novice witch, I have doubted my magick. But to DO is to KNOW and this podcast gave me the push I need to jump in with both feet!!
As a kid, I was shamed for my curiosity and sensitivity yet Emily’s world of Fitness Witchcraft and the WGTP has been a space where I get to lean into my feelings/emotions with curiosity. It’s a space for me to neutrally confront my triggers and learn how to take action to move from the skepticism of “it’s not gonna work for me” to the curiosity of “how can I make it work for me”.
Such a valuable vault of wisdom. I really appreciate how grounded and relatable her approach is—encouraging healthy skepticism and reminding us that our practice doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.
What stood out most was her invitation to experiment, to show up, try things, and see what truly resonates. Manifestation and magic aren’t one-size-fits-all, and I love that she empowers us to find what actually works for us through direct experience, not blind belief.
