  • Timely, necessary and helpful.

Even though I'm watching this whole clusterbleep closely, and reading a ton, WatchCats has really been additive in terms of understanding the ins and outs of government, the technical details, and so on. Added points for this not just being my lefty comrades feeling ways about things. This is more ideologically diverse and that's hopeful, because this doesn't end without a broad coalition.

  • Learning so much

Totally crucial information at just the right level of technical depth. As a non-technologist this is some of the best news.

  • Must listen show!

Thank you so much for this reporting. It is very important that we get as much of a view behind the musk curtain as possible. The richest man in the world having access to all levers of our government and the structure of our country definitely needs as many eyes on it as possible.

Mike Brock: Technology, Ideology, and Neoreaction | WatchCats #14
Q: What are the dangers they see arising from technology and its regulation?
There's concern over technological determinism and the belief that the nature of technology determines social conditions, which may further entrench inequities in society.
Mike Brock: Technology, Ideology, and Neoreaction | WatchCats #14
Q: What is the core idea of neo-reaction and how does it manifest in DOGE?
The core idea is about wanting freedom from constraints, an aspiration to live forever, and to do as one wishes without being burdened by society's disagreements on resource allocation.
Nathan Tankus: Tracking the Treasury Payments System Crisis | WatchCats #12
Q: Nathan, can you give our listeners a sort of 30,000-foot overview? What is the Treasury Payment System and why is the idea of DOGE's access to that technical infrastructure so alarming to a lot of people?
The Treasury Payment System is essential for the government to process payments like Social Security and other critical functions. DOGE's access raises concerns about accountability and potential misuse of government funds.
Jessica Riedl: A Fiscal Conservative Critique of DOGE | WatchCats #13
Q: What would your first commandment be if you were in charge of DOGE?
Conduct an audit and bring back inspectors general to define the problems and create a structured plan for efficiency.
Jessica Riedl: A Fiscal Conservative Critique of DOGE | WatchCats #13
Q: What have you found disappointing about the progress thus far of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency?
DOGE has focused on superficial cuts rather than addressing significant budgetary issues like fraud and payment errors.
