  • WAKE-UP!

I’ve been a long time listener of these guys and realized I’ve never left a review. Some days I cuss their ridiculous take on something. Other days I’m literally laughing out loud, looking like an idiot walking down the road with my headset on. Aslan and Cory love FSU athletics and try very hard to be objective in their coverage of the teams. This is not a heavy Xs and Os podcast, more of sitting around with buddies talking about your favorite team. This is my most listened to podcast, and I lo... more

  • A great listen

Wake Up Warchant is among my favorite podcasts period, and the only Florida State athletics podcast I listen to on the regular. Funny and insightful, likely to meander into other topics that make tuning in to Aslan and Corey a great way to start your day. If you’re a Seminole fan, a hater, or just want to be entertained, this is the pod for you.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

(9/11/26): Sobering FSU QB stat under Norvell, why the wait, open QB competition?
Q: Is Jimbo Fisher a realistic or desirable option given buyouts and franchise fit?
The discussion centers on the financial and emotional implications of hire, suggesting that while Jimbo's pedigree is compelling, the fit and ongoing commitments must be considered, with some listeners arguing for more modern, blue-blood pedigree candidates.
(9/11/26): Sobering FSU QB stat under Norvell, why the wait, open QB competition?
Q: What qualities should a new Florida State head coach possess beyond Xs and Os?
They emphasize experience at big programs, a track record of building rosters, the ability to recruit top talent, and a proven capacity to win on big stages; offensive scheme clarity and leadership style (CEO-like vs. coordinative) are also debated.
(9/11/26): Sobering FSU QB stat under Norvell, why the wait, open QB competition?
Q: Should Norvell open the quarterback competition during the bye week or keep the starting job the same to ride out the schedule?
The hosts entertain both sides, noting the need to see a different quarterback possibility in practice and at game speed, while acknowledging the risk of further exposing the offense without Jordan Travis; the general stance is that a data-driven decision and clear plan at quarterback is essential, but timing remains uncertain.
(9/10/26): FSU coordinators straddle blame game, after 2024 why did they give him back control?
Q: Why did the coaching staff revert to or maintain the same play-calling approach after 2024 if the results were so poor?
They argue it was about trying to stabilize the program and salvage the season, while discussing the quarterback's limitations as a key factor, and weighing whether the OC/HC should reclaim control to reset the program.
(7/17/26): Interview show - Ashton Daniels, Ja'Bril Rawls, UVA All-ACC standouts
Q: How do you view the role of leadership on your defense and your own leadership style?
The guest described the importance of poise, communication with both D-line and DBs, and adapting leadership to different teammates, stressing that accountability and confidence go hand in hand.
