Het verhaal is belangwekkend, de benadering zorgvuldig. Toch een heel traag toewerken naar de “climax”, verder ook nogal wat herhaling van al eerder verstrekte informatie, en op een storende manier uitleggerig, wat het tempo er nog verder uithaalt (“ik dacht na over dit; ik ging dit doen; wat vond ik na afloop hiervan). Prachtig verhaal en op niveau kwam dit dichtbij, de familie van mijn opa is ook afgevoerd naar kamp en vergast. Hijzelf overleefde.
Dit heeft voor mij (als kleinzoon), altijd als een ver-van-mijn-bedshow gevoeld.
