  • Great w/ a few snags

This podcast provides some wonderful content! The only snag I run into is that some of the videos do not play on my laptop or my phone. Example: VCP-DCV 1&2. I am appreciative of the efforts being made for the benefit and enjoyment of us listeners.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Trusted Publishing
Q: How does Trusted Publishing change the risk profile for publishing to PyPI?
It replaces long-lived tokens with short-lived, scoped tokens that are tied to specific projects and validated on each publish, dramatically reducing the window for credential theft and misuse.
Claude / Codex / Gemini / Open-model Gen AI from Zero with Andrew Brown
Q: In 2026, do you still recommend certifications for learning about AI, and how should they fit with bootcamps?
Certifications are learning posts that help establish baseline knowledge and signal some understanding, but they rarely guarantee a job; hands-on bootcamps and practical projects, especially those that align with real-world workflows and coding harnesses, are more valuable for career advancement.
AI for Good
Q: So what is it that we're doing to fix this today? And more importantly, what can the audience watching this also do to help with AI for Good?
We need to address the systemic mismatches upfront—focus on data quality, governance, and the local context. Individuals can start by helping NGOs clean data and identify immediate use cases, while institutions can invest in data infrastructure, establish data manuals, and build pipelines that translate AI insights into tangible services.
Troubleshooting AWS Hallucinations from Vector Store DBs
Q: Why should people listen to Amelia about this topic, given the experimental and evolving nature of AI data tools?
Amelia shares firsthand, practical experiences from deploying AI with real data in a national lab setting, including the challenges of data preparation, governance, and choosing the right combination of embeddings and models to reduce hallucinations, which provides actionable lessons for practitioners.
AI Governance for Virtualized Infrastructure: What vSphere Admins Need to Know
Q: Are there any lessons that we can take from what they've already done over there regarding the EU AI Act?
One of the lessons learned is timing; educating people on a new act as comprehensive as the EU AI Act was a challenge because of existing compliance fatigue.
