"Two Years in the Forbidden City" is a book written by Princess Der Ling, who was the renowned Lady-in-waiting to the Empress Dowager Cixi in the early 20th century. Though Empress Dowager Cixi is a household name, Der Ling's point of view offers a quite unique and surprisingly intimate portrayal of the Empress and Beijing's Imperial Palace in China's last feudal dynasty.

The content of the book is well-presented, through the narration it is as if we can go through the time tunnel and get a glimpse of what life was like back in Qing dynasty.
I know some of the pieces of its Chinese version here and there. It takes me so long to search everywhere to listen to this story of cixi read by Man Ling. As soon as I heard the reader’s voice, I fell in love with her soft, peaceful but powerful voice! It is like she is reading her own story! I love it so much and thanks for reading!
Well done and seamless reception. Nice content and it helps the world to understand the spirit of the Chinese. Highly recommended.
