There’s an underlying smugness to this podcast. A preponderance of Fuji camera users suggests a financial interest which is undeclared. Then promoting a photo competition for which they ask an entry fee. That is out of order. It seems that many of the guests and Valerie herself make their living from ‘workshops’. Money for old rope. This is a tired format which needs a reboot.
Valerie Jardin is a true podcaster. A voice for radio, she is friendly, personable, knowledgeable about her craft, and has a marvellous sense of fun and humour as well as a deep social conviction about what she is doing and the impact it can bring. One of the best podcasters around, and one of her best episodes was “Do Something For Nothing”.
