Troy’s podcast is always interesting and his insight is compelling. I really don’t understand some of these bad reviews. They sound bitter and twisted about something. Guys, just because people do well doesn’t mean they are open to attack.
This used to be a great podcast, I enjoyed it for the data breach / hack discussions and it has prompted me to get into UniFi WiFi kit at home, and build a Pi-Hole. But it’s a bit too much “Troy’s lifestyle podcast” these days, with too much talk about his woes trying to sell HIBP, jetski adventures, beer, and rambling about IoT lights. I’ve stopped listening.
This guy sounds like he has no clue about cyber security, dev and sysdev. Got lucky with his great website HaveIbeenPwned. Thanks. A great job! But, listening to him talking about it and open sourcing it, it is clear he is not that an expert.
And taking a paid partnership with NordVPN, speaks volumes about his inability to get a job with more reputable organisations. If he was such an expert, he would have been flooded with offers. But he only had the devil calling.... sad.
First off, I want to give Troy some respect for making the Have-I-Been-Pwnd website, for making it available to the others for free, and for generally standing up to companies for neglecting our security.
What I can't stand in has podcast though is his incessant bragging. This is seriously annoying. OK, you live in a sunny part of the world, have a fast car and a boat. So why do we need to hear about it, Troy? I know you're probably reading this. So please drop it and your podcast will be close... more
Troy is really smart and a great resource to the community but I with this podcast were more focused on technical topics. Troy spends a lot of time talking about random things in his life and I am just not interested in that.
