We journey deep into the heart of the three arc opus, “Cosmic," on this episode of TRAX. A song unlike anything else in the A7X catalogue, the story involves three drum kits, a vocal harmony ten years in the making and the exploration of the purpose ... more
As the rain hammered down for weeks in California and the band found themselves at a breaking point, the story of "Buried Alive" is one of courage and unity breeding creativity on an emotional episode of TRAX.
Exploring one of the biggest songs in our catalogue, TRAX investigates how a label dispute stopped "Afterlife" from being the self-titled’s first single and tags along for a drunken trip to Big Bear; that just so happens to result in its creation.
"We Love You" throws away all the rules and so does TRAX this month. It also features Nadya from Pussy Riot kicking ass at the end about "We Love You Moar."

This podcast is such a gift for all the A7X fans out there. To hear all the stories behind the scenes helps make an even deeper connection to each song, album, and the band as a whole. This is by far my favorite podcast… It’s so interesting, thoughtful, and entertaining to listen along, I can’t wait for each new episode to be released! Thank you to each member of Avenged Sevenfold and to Terry Beezer for doing this!! Please keep it going!
Matt said he and Syn were tripping on psychedelics when writing this album. Nobody and Cosmic are killer songs. The rest are interesting but also indicative of being high to come up with these weird “sonic behaviors”.
I am a big fan of the band I love this podcast, because it gives more of a chance to learn and grow with the band even more. Getting to learn the background behind my already favorite songs gives me more of an appreciation for them, so If your an Avenged Sevenfold fan I highly recommend you check it out!
Great podcast! Also “Cosmic” off of “Life Is But a Dream…” is just too good. It would be pretty cool if it was added to the setlist ;)
Love the breakdowns!
