  • Sad it’s over 😔

I just wanted to give credit to these three gentlemen who did this show for the last couple years. Sad to see you guys go, best Nintendo Podcast around hands down. Justin and Chris you are around my age and it’s been fun to hear you reminisce about your childhood with the early consoles and games. That brought back a flood of memories of my own and I felt like a kid again. You two have a ton of knowledge and totally get how special Nintendo is,please keep podcasting somewhere and let the communi... more

  • Great podcast that’s going to be missed

A great Nintendo podcast with knowledgeable, passionate hosts. I enjoyed it very much whilst it lasted. It’s a shame it’s over but you can catch Logan on NVC. They never did fix the ambient noise issue, which is particularly bad in the last episode but it’s worth sticking with it.

  • A lot of ambient noise

Hosts are knowledgeable and passionate, but there’s a lot of ambient noise. Clacking keyboards is the biggest issue. A new and annoying issue is different microphone levels, which is a real pain when listening with headphones. Otherwise, if you’re a Nintendo fan this is a solid weekly listen.

Talking Points

Nintendo 2024 Year In Review | TSBR 116
Q: What is your ranking of best Nintendo portable consoles?
Logan ranks the 3DS as number one, followed by the Switch, then DS, GBA, and finally Game Boy. Chris similarly ranks the 3DS first, GBA second, Switch third, and Game Boy last. Justin states that the original Game Boy ranks first, and the rest follow in release order from there.
Nintendo VS Yuzu, Mario Day, and Switch Launch Memories | TSBR 81
Q: What's the deal with third-party consoles?
There is a shelf life on any of these given consoles and nothing stopping anybody from making a clone console as long as it does not modify the functionality.
Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase and Mario VS Donkey Kong Impressions | TSBR 79
Q: Which game were you most hoping to see that was not featured?
I was really hoping for the Dragon Quest 3 remake.
Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase and Mario VS Donkey Kong Impressions | TSBR 79
Q: Which game are you most excited to play from the Direct?
Penny's Big Breakaway is probably the highlight as I have been waiting for that game.
The Nintendo Franchise Draft: Logan VS Justin VS Chris | TSBR 84
Q: How much do you allow your opinion of a previous entry in a series affect the review score you give to a new game in that same series?
It comes down to evaluating how important any aspect like this is to a title. The existence of previous titles can provide context but it’s not everything; it should be assessed based on the new game’s own merits.
