Peter Marks and Elisabeth Vincentelli gather one more time to remember their recently departed co-host, Terry Teachout.
For the critics' final episode, they consider the life and legacy of Sondheim and reflect on how theatre has grown and changed in the 4 years they've been podcasting.
This month the critics talk to the star of 'Hadestown' about darkness and empathy, and share their theatregoing highlights.
This week the critics speak to James Lapine about his new memoir of writing 'Sunday in the Park With George' with Sondheim, and talk up some shows they've seen.

Sorry to see you go. You will me missed. Your insights and commentary on all things theater helped to keep people together during your four year run. I followed you from Theater Talk on PBS. When Theater Talk went into hiatus, you stepped-up to the plate(!). Hoping for a 3 On The Aisle Revival(s)!, esp. around Tony time and year-end picks. Your insights have led me to many a show, author, producer and theater craft persons (actor, director & set designed & costumers, etc), I wouldn’t have known ... more

If you’ve ever wanted to listen to a podcast from a critical perspective of theatre, Three on the Aisle is the one for you. A fascinating and intellectual perspective of 3 Broadway and American theatre critics (and a bevy of fantastic guests) discussing today’s American Broadway scene as well as American theatre in general. I love this podcast! A MUSt for any theatre fan
Wednesday’s episode (3-25-20, ‘Together Alone’) hits the spot. Just the analysis, criticism and journalism that’s needed. Thanks. With special nod to Peter, Michael Kaiser’s insights are very pertinent and valuable. He’s a true leader and asset to the theater community, (just like ‘Three on the Aisle’). And Elisabeth’s point about freelancers, underscores how we are ALL gig’ers in a gig economy weathering the economic tsunami. As Terry says, efforts for company’s to make their theater avail... more
