Hosts are not good. So boring… they need more energy, and it needs to sound natural not like they’re reading from a paper.

  • It's tough to find a podcast that's fun for kids and adults. The Zooquarium Podcast, with its short episode length and engaging guests, is perfect for kids and kids at heart to learn about animals and their impact on the art world.

  • Educational and Fun

Our family is very excited for Mike Bennett’s new Zooquarium Podcast.

Mike is a “certified public joy creator” who, for years, has brought happiness to Portland, OR residents through his imaginative art installations, creative mini golf course, and “best in Portland” Wonderwood Springs Cafe.

Mike never misses and Zooquarium will most certainly be a hit.

BONUS: Talkin' Tigers with Megan Hagedorn
Q: How did you get your start in this amazing career path?
Megan explains growing up in a landlocked region with an early fascination for marine biology, followed by education and field work in marine mammals, before transitioning to zoo work and embracing the education component to share science with visitors and kids.
Why Do Red-Eyed Tree Frogs Have Multiple Eyelids?
Q: Why do red-eyed tree frogs have multiple eyelids?
Their third eyelid, the nictitating eyelid, helps camouflage, allows limited vision to detect predators while sleeping, and helps keep moisture in the eye.
BONUS: Crickets, Clay, and the City of Roses with Chuck Duke
Q: Are there other projects that used a lot of reference from animals, or nature, or habitats, or anything like that that stands out in your career?
Isle of Dogs was very dog-heavy, so we built a comprehensive library of dog references and even colleagues would bring their dogs to work, which helped inform movement and behavior across the film.
BONUS: Crickets, Clay, and the City of Roses with Chuck Duke
Q: So I do have some Sebastian J. Cricket questions for you.
It's really fun to animate; the fast actions are a thrilling way to express violence and motion, and the cricket characters were designed with varied materials for limbs and bodies to accommodate different types of impacts.
Where Are Crickets' Ears Located?
Q: Where are Cricket's ears located?
Crickets don't have ears on their heads like humans do; they have tympanum on their front legs which function like tiny drums, vibrating when hit by sound waves and allowing the cricket to hear.
