  • Was ist das brilliance

I asked Siri to play me a podcast for expats in Austria and was thrown this gem. As an Australian (slowly learning German), I can generally only understand half of this but it’s still hilarious and I appreciate the random stories, very insightful into Wien life.

  • Hmm

The topics are very interesting, but the Austrian guy is very rude and hates everything 🧐 to every single topic he is always unhappy. It is not nice to hear.

  • Amazing

As an Australian coming to Vienna for an exchange, I randomly found this podcast about a 2 months ago. I love it. You boys genuinely put a smile on my face every week (even if I can’t really understand Gabi)

#219 ESC Beginner’s Guide mit Eurovision Song Contest Professor Mario Lackner
Q: What do you think about the potential for Cosmo and younger artists—can they realistically reach the finals?
Cosmo has a strong fanbase and clear ambitions, but success will depend on both the song's universal appeal and the competition's broader voting dynamics, including regional preferences and performance quality on the night.
#219 ESC Beginner’s Guide mit Eurovision Song Contest Professor Mario Lackner
Q: What makes the voting system (jury plus televoting) so compelling or controversial?
The mixed system adds excitement because it combines assessed quality from juries with the spontaneous, popular reaction of viewers, and the way it can swing in the final moments keeps audiences engaged until the last vote.
#219 ESC Beginner’s Guide mit Eurovision Song Contest Professor Mario Lackner
Q: How would you explain the Eurovision Song Contest to somebody in a small town in rural America that has no idea what it is?
I would say to watch reaction videos on YouTube to get a sense of the immediate, often humorous human responses while also recommending watching performances to understand the spectacle, diversity, and musical variety that define the event.
#201 Tipsy Glühweintour & Our Wins, Losses & Learnings from 2025
Q: What was your biggest loss this year?
My biggest loss was becoming overwhelmed and losing touch with who I am as a person and a leader.
#201 Tipsy Glühweintour & Our Wins, Losses & Learnings from 2025
Q: What was your biggest win of the year?
My win this year was realizing that I can actually build a successful company despite past struggles.
