  • Best podcast for Michigan sports

Recruiting coverage is excellent, accurate, and diverse, covering a wide range of topics between episodes whether it be about recruiting for specific positions, rankings, evaluations, approach, etc. Breakdowns of the football and basketball programs are also top notch, again covering loads of topics such as game breakdowns, player performances, coach and player interviews, scheme, and much more. Guests are stellar. Must-listen programming if you’re a diehard Michigan fan.

I generally enjoy the podcast but for the love of all things holy please get Steve some decent audio equipment. You can only hear about 20% of anything he says. What is with the obnoxious fluctuations in the volume of his voice??

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Michigan Football Breakdown with Borges & English - Week 1
Q: Starting with you, would you commit to playing Bryce the entire game if he struggles again?
No, not necessarily; approach the game with a plan to coach him hard, monitor battlefield performance, and be prepared to make a change if needed for the team's and player's benefit.
Monday Morning Quarterback with Denard Robinson - Week 1
Q: What were the biggest issues with Bryce's performance and how would you address them this week?
The core issues were mechanics under pressure, footwork, vision to safeties first, and rhythm. The fix is a short, trusted set of plays to calm him, with drills to improve pocket presence, timing of the feet, and reads, plus a plan to simplify progression and build confidence.
EXCLUSIVE: Warde Manuel Addresses his future at Michigan
Q: Why did you decide to retain Jim Harbaugh and later hire Dusty May, and do you regret those decisions in hindsight?
I had no regrets about how I approached retention and hires; I believed in their potential, communicated plans to leadership, and pursued the best interests of the program, recognizing that both left for professional opportunities that were best for them and for Michigan to continue its success.
EXCLUSIVE: Warde Manuel Addresses his future at Michigan
Q: What is the leadership's approach to ensuring coherent direction when there are internal differences and external rumors about your future or the program?
There are differences in any organization, and we need constructive disagreement within a framework that moves us forward; rumors from outside do not define the path unless there is evidence guiding action.
EXCLUSIVE: Warde Manuel Addresses his future at Michigan
Q: A, have you seen or been briefed on the Jenner Block report and B, has it been communicated to you that your job is indeed dangling in the balance?
I have not seen the report and will wait for the president to release it; as for my future, there have been conversations, but I do not know what will change, and I will continue to move forward.
