  • Refreshing!

First time listener. Love having a reptile podcast led by 2 ladies. I don’t own any reptiles (amphibian owner) but love the information and realness of owning exotic animals. This is a largely male dominated space so this is a lovely change. Its needed.

  • Forever grateful

Little tangent here: In middle school I became obsessed with reptiles. Constantly watching videos and doing research. I was so happy when I got my first crested gecko. Rescuing reptiles with Jessica's Animal Friends | Episode 132
Q: What prompted Jessica to focus on leopard geckos and later enigma syndrome?
Jessica describes starting in 2014 and moving toward rescue and rehoming as a core value from the beginning, which evolved into focusing on leos and then enigma syndrome as her experience grew, leading to more ethical and outbred approaches.
Breeding Green Anacondas with MegaConda! | Episode 126
Q: Can you talk us through the breeding timeline from a baby to laying their first litter?
The process is long: females mature around six to eight years, gestation lasts roughly eight months, and since they give live birth, the mother needs significant recovery time, meaning you often breed every two years rather than annually; you also need to ensure ample size and health before attempting, and plan across multiple years to maintain bloodline health.
What reptile would we NEVER keep? | Episode 116
Q: What's one reptile you think nobody should own?
Lyssa expressed concern over crocodilians, while Neptune worried about sulcata tortoises.
