I’ve been teaching in Japan since 2013, but I never got around to listening to any TEFL podcasts. Sure wish I had gotten on this one sooner! I’ve enjoyed going through the back catalogue and listening to interviews with some incredible minds and voices in English education. I’m doing a master’s in art education, focusing my capstone project on the use of art in English language learning. I’m thrilled to find such great ideas and info from other EFL educators to bring into my research!
Love this podcast, always find something new/interesting in each episode, it really is the best podcast for anyone working in ELT/generally interested in linguistics, and super entertaining and easy to listen too!
Thank you for your podcast!😄 I’ve used some of your interesting facts during my ESL classes. I love the way you speak and interact with each other.
Another interview recorded in an echo-filled hotel ballroom at a TEFL conference? No thanks! I'm tired of playing the same passages multiple times to be able to understand what somebody said amidst the noise. A shame, really, because some of the content is quite interesting.
ICT, CALL, issues of Second language teaching, new theories in SLA
Thanks guys. I am doing my Delta and listening to your podcasts to and from work. Really interesting content and love the mix of history, methodology and classroom stuff. Helps to consolidate all the input material and keep it relevant !

I love the TEFLOLOGY podcast because of the thoughtful takes on various topics and interviews. I've learned about ELTs and researchers that I didn't know I'd be interested in through TEFLOLOGY. Thank you for keeping this up! Now that this podcast has been around for a couple years, the cumulative effect of all of these podcasts is also impressive (and useful) for those of us looking for continuing professional development.
For those who haven't had the chance to read up on all the latest developments in the TEFL field, this podcast is a perfect medium for you to develop as a language educator. Thanks for providing such a valuable resource.
I really enjoying these. Well done. I’m learning a little and getting a lot of good review too!
Best podcast I've been able to find on TEFL or Applied Linguistics. Find it fun and informative and I appreciate the work that goes into researching segments :)
I love the funny theme song and there is enough variety to keep in interesting for a non-academic like me. There are interviews with people who have stories to tell - some of them are big and famous people who wrote the book on ELT and some of them should be more famous than they are. I love the TEFL pioneers part with a bit of history that I never learned about. The Teflologists do the research for us and share it in ways that are easy to understand. Then they question each other and challenge ... more
Loving your reflections of TESOL topics and interviews with TESOL notables. Thank you!
The Teflologists came to fill a long-standing gap left by the Edgycation podcast. A place where teachers spread around the world can find news and listen to the different teaching techniques, fads, and trends. A great episode was a great interview with prof. Nina Spada at JALT 2014 - great discussion on the studies about "best ages" to learn a language etc. but, there had to be a but... The interview was extremely impaired by the background chatter which was a mix between a horse race narration ... more
A great resource for those in the TEFL world
This podcast is informative as well as entertaining. The presenters' passion for teaching and learning is infectious and listening to this program has made my commute a lot more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
