The story line is great with story lines relative to the time period and today. Worth your time!
Rural prohibition-era America where conservative and racist social mores restrict the lives of women and the men are often violent and drunk, mixed with an unsettling ghost story. Ambitious and confidently made with great story telling.
So southern so fun so full of drama! They manage to pack in timely issues too! Incredible sound!
I’m not a huge podcast listener but this show might change that, it’s so good.
The Susie House starts innocently enough with a young woman writing to her cousin about moving back to the country after tough times forced her husband to return to the family farm. Honor’s description of the house in which she finds herself (The Susie House) teases at the unusual and mysterious. The longer she lives there with her husband and young son, the more strange things happen in and around the house. Is it the ghost of Susie or something more sinister?
