Listen, no hate but Sylas takes too many damn sips of his bloody drink! Not everyone is watching this and so to listen to Sylas drinking sometimes like 5 times in an episode made me stop listening. I do not think this review will make a difference as he seems to enjoy saying 'lemme take a sip' - i, however, do not. Good stories though xx
I’m huge into true crime, and I found it. It’s very hard to find podcast the balance humor conversation, and the facts without getting annoying or being too heavy on one stream of that.
Sylas does a great job at keeping the storylines and facts flowing well, while adding in humor and entertainment. The storyline never gets lost, and the facts are always presented well. I really appreciate how he delivers his content on this podcast as well as CreepTime. Highly recommend this podcast for anyone ... more
A absolutely amazing podcast
I really enjoy Sylas’s storytelling, he’s great at pulling you right into the storyline.
Sylas. I have been listening to your podcasts for a long time, I am just finding The Sinister and I am forever thankful for your existence!
Listening to your podcast has helped me get through some really challenging times in my life. That sounds crazy (since we are talking about horrid murders and awful humans) but your perspective, your intellect and your personality have added so much value in my life!
Keep up the AMAZING work baby!!!

This long-form true crime show features a single host guiding listeners through case-focused reconstructions, often spanning decades and multiple jurisdictions. Episodes emphasize timelines, investigative work, and human impact, weaving in witness accounts, forensic details, and host observations to weigh competing theories. The format is narrative-driven, with a strong storytelling voice, a willingness to explore darker material, and occasional audience participation and Patreon-driven ad-free listening. A notable strength is the deep-dive approach to both well-known cases and lesser-known mysteries, delivered with a calm, hypnotic delivery that appeals to fans of meticulous, atmosphere-rich true crime.
