  • Does the podcast choose the listener, or the listener the podcast?

The Old Kingdom is one of my favorite series, and I was delighted to find this podcast — even more so when I realized Alex and Zack are running a queer-friendly, race-conscious operation while in this fantasy landscape so often dominated by the same faces and sexual persuasions. Sabriel and Lirael are amazing characters — I recently binged the episodes for the first three books and am excited to keep following you as you walk over the wall and into Death with Clariel and Goldenhand! • Good Podcast

I love the books and my younger teenage daughter does too. The discussion around the chapters isnt drawn out and ponderous.

Since I’m a dad and my younger daughter and I listen to the podcast together, I could do without all of the profanity. A young adult novel may attract younger listeners so its cringy.

Come for the insightful discussions on character development, ~world building~, and parallels to historical events; stay for the wacky voices, pop culture references, and dirty jo... more
