The PikeCast is an in-depth discussion of the work of YA horror author Christopher Pike. Like your favorite book club, in each episode, we break down one of his novels and discuss it from a modern perspective as well as looking through our teenage eyes at the violence, sex, and goofiness that was so prevalent in his writing.

I loved Pike's books so much growing up and was really excited to find this podcast. I found the reviews and insights to be so interesting and entertaining. Unfortunately I had to stop listening because one of the woman's voices was just sooo grating and distracting and it was really ruining the experience for me.
Ok accidentally found this today due to a random conversation leading to an audible search leading me here - I was obsessed with Pikes weird universe and can’t think of anything better than a podcast revisiting these now I can’t wait to cringe and laugh and have fond memories reignited and icing on the cake I had no idea my favourite book the midnight club is a Netflix series and I don’t even care if it is terrible I’m just excited it exists and I get to watch it! Anyway I’m into the first episo... more
So grateful to have found this!
Love this pod—Cassie, Becca, and Cooper are great guides to revisit and reread the best books from my childhood.
This whole podcast is such a blast! I love being able to reread these books from my past and listen to such fun people dissect them. I have enjoyed every episode!

The best Pike/YA horror cast I’ve found. They take the texts at serious face value but mock all the plot holes and strange themes. Very entertaining.
I really hope they are not done with this series, I need alllllll the Christopher Pike books! They have brought back so much nostalgia and even got me back into reading again after so many years of being “too busy” for it… Hoping this review reaches the podcasters cause I NEED MORE!! Please and thank you :)

I love that you all are going back to review these books. I did not like to read growing up, but Pike was the only author of books I read. I would stay up until 3 am reading everything of his I could. Sad part is I no longer have these beloved books. While I love the deep dive into the books, I would find it helpful to give more detail as to what happens plot wise, as trying to remember all the small details of the characters falls flat for me. It is really hard to find/buy these classics withou... more

Found the podcast and enjoyed several episodes. The episodes discussing Remember Me 1 and 2 are funny. And the episode of Remember Me 3 and The Starlight Crystal are meh. The episodes really start to drag by the time they discuss The Starlight Crystal and the next several books. I started getting really irritated listening to the main person behind the podcast. Suddenly things he lists as problematic go from being interesting and funny to be a long winded discussion. I couldn't tell if he wa... more

Thank you for validating my obsession with Christopher Pike. None of my friends in primary/high school ever liked his books. So I kept my true obsession a bit of a secret or felt ashamed for loving these so much. My first book was Last Act in 1991 or 1992 when I was 10/11, and then I became a super fan. I wish I had grown up in a time with the internet so I could have found mega fans to bond with and obsess over. Your podcast is my new favorite - You all put into words how wonderful his stories ... more
Smarmy, unpleasant, overly critical hosts.
