Q: Are you familiar with the provision in the policy that says if there's a prosecution case, all items in the forensic investigative genetic genealogy should be preserved for court purposes?
I believe that preservation requirement is part of the policy, though I am not certain of its exact wording in section 7; I can refresh memory with a document if needed.
Murder In Moscow: Transcripts From The Closed IGG Hearing (Part 5)
Q: Are you aware of an investigative genetic genealogy was used in this case? What was your role in that?
My role specific to this case was facilitating the signing of a memorandum of understanding among the police, the prosecuting attorney's office, and the ISP management; later, I reviewed the preliminary report and authorized payment for the testing.

Q: Outside of CODIS, and I understand what that does. If you create a DNA profile of somebody, is that a separate thing you do in your lab, even if you're not going to run them through CODIS?
Yes. When we receive items of evidence or samples from known individuals, we generate a DNA profile from those.
