The Metal Detecting Show

Although this show has stopped being made it is still a very useful resource for new detectorists or for those experienced detectorists looking for a bit more information on specific topics. Very useful and informative short form podcasts. The UK/Irish metal detecting podcast scene hasn’t got a lot of podcasts anymore, and with this once dropping off we are much worse off. Great show, well worth a listen.

This is a very good podcast. Some humor but not a lot of unecessary talk. Usually straight to the point and the information is great. For a beginner like me it has been a lifesaver of information.

Im new to detecting so I’m soaking up all the information I can. I like Kiran’s easy style & delivery with a bit humor too. I highly recommend giving it a listen and see if it fits for you. I’ll be subscribing. Dave in Eastern PA.

Top class every week

I really enjoy the podcast. It’s very informational on several topics. I do like hearing a detecting podcast that doesn’t just talk about YouTube and finds that someone made. It really covers the topic of metal detecting very well. I honestly wish that sometimes the episodes were a little bit longer sometimes. Still 5 stars.

Succinct, knowledgeable and fun

This guy knows his stuff. Would like to see longer shows with more in depth coverage of topics - but even as it is, I still look forward to new episodes. Would love to hear one episode about just telling finds stories.

This is a real metal detecting show!

The other “metal detecting” shows I subscribe to rarely talk about the physics and science and techniques of metal detecting; they often have interviews about a guy who hiked somewhere and found a “cool thing”, or returned a wedding ring. That’s not interesting to learn about our hobby. This show is always interesting! You’ll enjoy it like I do.

A great, fun and informative pod cast for the detecting fan. Sensible advice given and the host breaks down technical terms and technology for all the technically challenged coil swingers out there. This pod cast is easy to listen to with the hosts cheeky and charming Irish vernacular. Definitely worth setting this up to download as the shows short format makes it perfect to listen to whilst grabbing a quick cup of coffee.

As the title suggests, I’m a new detectorist. I had been looking for a show that was straight to the point on the topics covered. Ciaran gets the job done without the unnecessary chatter getting in the way of the knowledge. I have subscribed and am enjoying the show. It’s great learning from his experience!
