  • Intellectually lacking

The shows host are to frequently mis using language and tend ramble incoherently. Leaving the listener wondering what they mean. The show tries my patients when listening.

  • Tunnel visioned.

It’s a good left leaning show, with great insights, but could be so much if there were more variety in viewpoints. It’s hard for them to get to the bottom of anything with just one view point. They don’t seem to fully understand the dynamics of other countries and are willing to overlook information to pile on blame to the right.

  • Two good, one bad

I love the show. Sometimes I listen daily, sometimes I miss it for a while and then listen to everything I missed. Emma rules. Sam rules. The guests need some work. Emma and Sam know how to speak and deliver because there is actually some intentional broadcasting on their part. Perhaps a Majority Report employee can coach the guests, who spend less time broadcasting, on being a little stronger. on mic. Step one: be mindful of the vocal fry. The constant trailing off into sentence long, low pitch... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

3660 - Platner Smear Flops; The Screwworm Cometh w/ Jeet Heer
Q: What did you make of the New York Times piece on Graham Platner and its handling of the allegations?
The panelists question the Times' sourcing and corroboration, suggesting the piece may rely on a narrow set of quotes and partisan sources, which could distort the perception of Platner's candidacy and feed a broader media-politics battle.
3659 - How Israel Came to Dominate US Foreign Policy w/ Noah Kulwin & Brendan James
Q: Noah, what is a better framework to describe the US–Israel relationship beyond simplistic conspiracy theories?
A more nuanced framework recognizes that both sets of interests—American strategic concerns and Israeli political objectives—interact in complex ways, with periods of alignment and divergence depending on domestic politics, global context, and specific crises.
3653 - Big Oil's $23B Hormuz Exploits; Trump Botches Iran Peace Talks w/ Alex Jacquez, Matt Duss
Q: What is the windfall for oil companies and how does it affect inflation and consumers?
Oil firms are earning unusually high profits and are returning cash to shareholders via buybacks rather than expanding production, which helps support stock prices and benefits executives while leaving consumer prices high.
3654 - Israel Out of Control; ICE Protests Key in NJ Primary w/ Zachary Foster, Dr. Adam Hamawy
Q: What are the key local needs in the diverse Central Jersey district Dr. Hamawy is running in?
Dr. Hamawy emphasizes healthcare access, infrastructure, and cost of living as core concerns, arguing that a physician's perspective on practical problems helps address multiple constituents' needs.
3648 - Wrestling with Ice; Short Circuiting AI Data Center w/ Leo Martinez, Gabi Finlayson
Q: What initially motivated VC Defensa and its volunteer network to organize around ICE actions?
Martinez explains it was the combination of past Obama deportations and a surge in Gaza-related outrage that connected people to practical, neighborhood-level defense work, leading to a scalable volunteer base.
