  • Tunnel visioned.

It’s a good left leaning show, with great insights, but could be so much if there were more variety in viewpoints. It’s hard for them to get to the bottom of anything with just one view point. They don’t seem to fully understand the dynamics of other countries and are willing to overlook information to pile on blame to the right.

  • Two good, one bad

I love the show. Sometimes I listen daily, sometimes I miss it for a while and then listen to everything I missed. Emma rules. Sam rules. The guests need some work. Emma and Sam know how to speak and deliver because there is actually some intentional broadcasting on their part. Perhaps a Majority Report employee can coach the guests, who spend less time broadcasting, on being a little stronger. on mic. Step one: be mindful of the vocal fry. The constant trailing off into sentence long, low pitch... more

  • Got me through 2025

Honestly a lot of Lefty podcasts can be full of doom and gloom and while TMR covers those issues, you’re guaranteed to laugh at some point, get out your frustration with the country and actually leave having learned something. Discovered the show Jan 2025 and it kept me sane and laughing every morning

  • Sam please stop with a high voice

Amazing show and I highly recommend it. I decided to submit a review because I’m listening to the best of episode and I could not press fast forward fast enough when Sam imitated someone with a high-pitched voice. Please do not ever do that again. Other than that, keep up the good work.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

3631 - Foiled Correspondence Assassination Attempt; The Myth of Red Texas w/ David Griscom
Q: What role did populism play in shaping Texas politics?
Populism transformed from agricultural organizing to a wider political movement that challenged the ruling class, led to the creation of the People's Party in Texas, and influenced state policy through labor and debt relief demands.
3631 - Foiled Correspondence Assassination Attempt; The Myth of Red Texas w/ David Griscom
Q: How did the Cowboys strike change the perception of labor in Texas?
The strike disrupted the traditional narrative by showing that organized labor could win significant concessions when aligned with broader economic stakes like cattle drives, forcing a reassessment of Texas' labor history.
3631 - Foiled Correspondence Assassination Attempt; The Myth of Red Texas w/ David Griscom
Q: What is the core thesis of The Myth of Red Texas?
Texas is not inherently conservative or Republican by fate; its politics are shaped by historical labor movements, populist currents, and strategic realignments that have evolved over time, often obscured by mythologized narratives.
3619 - Trump Allows Israel to Sabotage Ceasefire; Doctor Reports from Gaza w/ Dr. Tarek Loubani
Q: Can you remind people of the death toll and the undercount, and give us a sense of where things stand right now?
Dr. Loubani explains that the toll is difficult to determine precisely due to the destruction of record-keeping and ongoing chaos, with estimates suggesting hundreds of thousands dead directly from the war, plus significant indirect deaths from malnutrition and lack of medical care; he emphasizes that the conservative Palestinian counting methods miss many victims and that the true war-related death toll may be much higher, potentially in the hundreds of thousands.
3614 - BONDI FIRED; Trump's Deranged Iran Speech; The Downfall of Nation States w/ Rana Dasgupta
Q: Rana, thank you so much for coming on the show today.
Dasgupta provides a historical framing of nation-states and argues that nationalism and religious influence have long shaped political identities, while connecting these dynamics to current global power shifts and America's evolving role.
