  • Who said stone masons don’t have a personality

What a fabulous ep with Cam, owner of Peninsula Stonemasons. I learnt about things l didn’t know l needed to know. All articulated by a man giving important life lessons, so intelligent, so humble and delivered in a relaxed and chatty manner. Left me wanting to hear more. Looking forward to listening to more of your episodes. @peninsula_stonemasons

  • Landscaper review

Being a landscaper I look forward to new episodes being released but I found there is too much of a focus most episodes on garden shows.

These for most landscapers are something that is not that important, but seems to be a common theme throughout this podcast. I find myself tuning out a bit once that conversation starts up.

But overall it’s been good to listen to each week.

Episode 284 - MIFGS Welcome Garden Chat with Dan Foreman
Q: How many gardens have you worked on, and are they all show gardens or across categories?
Foreman explains it's his 11th garden involvement since 2011, spanning student/boutique gardens to show gardens, with a progression in design and execution.
Episode 279 - Jacob Hoey - CSF Landscapes
Q: What are the key differences you noticed between London and Sydney in terms of work and life as a landscaper?
London demanded adaptability to small spaces and heavy logistics, with a strong emphasis on carpentry and stone work; Sydney offered broader space but still required efficient planning and access strategies, along with different labor market dynamics.
Episode 279 - Jacob Hoey - CSF Landscapes
Q: What was it like returning to Australia after London and deciding your path forward?
The guest found value in working for a company with room for advancement, realized the admin burden of running a solo operation, and chose to pursue design-centric roles within established firms rather than start anew on his own.
Episode 279 - Jacob Hoey - CSF Landscapes
Q: How did you start in the industry?
He began with family involvement in horticulture, shifted into laboring roles, then pursued an apprenticeship with a construction landscaping company, which launched his formal landscaping career.

Q: When did Rorie join Urban Discovery and what is his role?
Rorie shares joining mid-2010s after connections with Jenn and Ross, contributing as a designer who works from client meetings to design, delivery, and post-project support for educators.
