Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Co-Inventor of Tor on Why Your NHI Strategy Is Already Behind
Q: What do you think will be the driving factor for the next couple of years in security tech?
The key factor will be the increasing centralization of control systems and the need to secure data access across AI agents, with emphasis on identity, data protection, and logging, while avoiding an unmanageable vendor sprawl.
The Co-Inventor of Tor on Why Your NHI Strategy Is Already Behind
Q: Where do you see policy management fitting into blended identities for agents?
Policy should be computed by the platform (Aembit) based on inputs from both the human and agent sides, with a language to manipulate policies so organizations can tailor rights for different use cases without overexposing data.
The Co-Inventor of Tor on Why Your NHI Strategy Is Already Behind
Q: What was the Doc Brown moment for starting the company?
The moment was recognizing a clear need to address non-human identities as AI agents became real and valuable to businesses, prompting the founders to build a dedicated identity solution for agents rather than repurposing user-focused IAM tools.
The Co-Inventor of Tor on Why Your NHI Strategy Is Already Behind
Q: I'm interested, what was the calling you saw when you looked at this market and said, this is a problem I want to solve?
The realization that services needed to talk to other services, not just users, drove the idea. An identity solution for software agents was required because traditional VPN-like approaches were wrong for non-interactive, machine-to-machine contexts. This led to the founding of aembit and a focus on service-to-service identity, later extended to AI agents.
The AI Agent Security Problem Nobody's Talking About
Q: How will AI change the way applications are built and secured?
AI can blur the line between data, business logic, and user interface, enabling data to be retrieved and actions taken through AI prompts, but this also requires redefining entitlements and enabling token-based, intent-driven access within applications.
