After recently starting to play the game, I really enjoyed listening to The Grey Company! It is nice to hear where the game has come from and to hear perspectives of really great players. Encourage for anyone wanting to learn more about the game, Lord of the Rings, and game design in general!
The Grey Company was/ are huge parts of the LOTR LCG community, and it’s always a joy listening to them.
I originally originally listened to this podcast about 6-7 years ago when I was still actively playing the game. Now that me and my brother are getting back into the game, I started re-listening from the start… and it’s still as entertaining to listen to as it was years ago.
If you’re just getting into LOTR LCG or revisiting a old friend, you should 100% listen to this podcast. The episode... more
I really enjoy listening to the tales from LotR lcg. It has been much fun. Keep it coming 🙌🏻
Great content, even though it has a slower release schedule in 2017 than it had in the past. The Book Club in particular is something quite wonderful!
A really fun panel of guys discussing various topics about the Lord of the Rings LCG. Whether you're a solo or cooperative player there's lot of useful episodes to help with getting the best out of this game. Great work guys!
This is the best podcast regarding the LotR LCG. The hosts provide detailed analysis, stay on track, and have great chemistry. This is the podcast that got me excited to build decks for the game.
...the guys (Derek, Ian, Dan and Matthew) do a great job of presenting different points of view about the game. While they wouldn't admit it, they are experts at the game and how it's played. The podcast is well structured by Derek, but each episode seems to contain spontaneous moments of realization and excitement. Their personalities are quite different - to the point that are moments of tension (reference the moment when, after a sincere sounding disagreement, Matthew indignantly reminds ... more
My favorite thing about this podcast is not that the content is awesome but rather the way these guys behave and run the show. These guys are adults. They are gentlemen! They act maturely, speak intelligently, and explore the rather sophisticated and subtle nuances of this great game.
I also very much appreciate how they interact with each other and compliment one another. I can't stand radio/podcasts where people are constantly interrupting and talking over one another. These guys have g... more
These four guys are knowledgeable and a great listen. I start a new deck after every episode.
As of episode 3, this series is really great. Not nearly as goofy as Cardboard of the Rings, but an excellent discussion of strategy. Both series make me want to run home and break out my cards. Episode 3 was particularly good, with a great discussion of deck strategies for a particular scenario.
Dan, you really, really need to reposition your microphone. Every "s" you say creates a cacophony that makes the podcast incredibly difficult to listen to. I really want to hear what you're saying... more
The hosts are already established experts in the LOTR:LCG community and have put out tons of written content on various blogs. Audio quality is generally good (though Beorn is hard to hear). A nice alternative to the lighter, news-oriented Cardboard of the Rings with more strategic crunch.
