  • Best Player Analysis

Chris takes player analysis to a new level. What you will not hear are “follow the crowd” player talk. Instead, Chris helps the audience understand the player and why or why not he has a chance of making it to the MLB and what we can expect from him. As a dynasty player, this podcast is what I need to make the best decisions for my team.

  • Great Info

At this point, it should be well known that I’m a sucker for any podcast that invokes Kevin Youkilis’ name to describe anyone that walks a lot, but putting that aside I’m still a big fan of this show. Great info, easy to listen to, big fan.

  • info you usually do not follow closely enough

Brent and Chris share information of prospects that they have personally watched, and I have found that information can save you mistakes from spending capital on players hyped but really not ready for the show, and very good reasoning for that analysis.

And along the way, I am sure we will nail some prospects early enough to be ahead of most of your league opponents.

    A nice addition to bbhq.

  • I’m gonna be real honest

I haven’t even listened to an episode yet but I’ve following Blessing and Brent’s work for years and am always finding myself picking up what they’re putting down.

Incredibly pumped to listen and see how far they can take this show. 🔥

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 6.15: MLB Draft Preview with Joe Doyle
Q: Who is the best pure hitter in the draft according to your assessment?
Chris Hakopian from Texas A&M is the best pure hitter in the class, with a swing that projects well despite some questions about defensive position and run mechanics.
Episode 6.15: MLB Draft Preview with Joe Doyle
Q: Who stood out at the MLB Draft Combine and caused you to reevaluate a ranking?
Rocco Maniscalco moved a round due to an eye-opening drill performance, particularly his pace and arm action, which shifted his projection dramatically.
Episode 6.15: MLB Draft Preview with Joe Doyle
Q: Tell us about the strengths of this draft class.
The draft is deeper than it looks at the top; the first round is solid but not overwhelmingly top-heavy, while the middle rounds could produce a lot of big leaguers, especially arms, and college pitching appears strong with multiple high-end college arms.
Episode 6.13: Prospect Promotions with Zac Beck
Q: What do you see as Pratt's long-term upside and fit for the Brewers?
Pratt projects as a glove-first defender with the potential to carry a shortstop profile, offering a solid floor and a path to an impact MLB role if he develops his hitting enough to stay above-average offensively.
Episode 6.11: Alfredo Duno and a side of Joshua Baez with Tim Kanek
Q: What stands out most about Joshua Baez from your spring looks?
Baez has exceptional raw power and an ability to hit moonshot home runs even at sea level in Jupiter, with a repeatable swing and surprisingly strong plate discipline for a power hitter, giving him a high fantasy ceiling.
