  • Real Amateur Radio

I love this podcast as from my perspective, this is what real Amateur Radio talk. Not overly technical, geeky, builders specific, or from a bunch of licensed amateurs who rarely if ever get on the air. Keep up the good work!

POTA News and Reviews with Perry W1GRD
Q: What is POTA Map and how does PQL change the way users interact with parks?
The map visualization was designed to visualize POTA data, with a custom query language (PQL) allowing users to filter by distance, activation mode, and other criteria, turning the map into a flexible research tool for activators.
POTA News and Reviews with Perry W1GRD
Q: Perry, how did POTA News and Reviews evolve from a blog into a full platform?
Perry explains it started as a personal blog sharing long-form essays about parks, which drew reader questions and contributions, leading to a broader site with multiple authors, weekly newsletters, and eventually features like forums, maps, and a magazine-like structure.
Let's welcome Live Free and Ham to TEHRS!
Q: Eric, tell us about Live Free and Ham.

What kind of magic is iShareRadio? With George KJ6VU
Q: Is iShare Radio limited to Flex radios or will it work with other brands?
The initial release is with Flex, but the plan is to support other radios like Elecraft, ICOM, and Kenwood over time, by providing a common authentication and control layer while respecting each vendor's interfaces.
