  • Brilliant

A brilliant podcast. Dave clearly loves football and has a good understanding of the game, making his points clearly. A particular highlight are his Wednesday Nostalgia shows & Listeners Questions on a Thursday. I don’t agree with every point he makes, but he does make his points in a valid way with some logic behind them. And unlike a lot of football podcasters, he clearly has a brain. I listen to this every day and it’s always my go-to podcast of an evening.

  • the one man show

Dave clearly knows his stuff and is a joy to listen to - he’s got a similar thing to Bill Simmons going on with his ability to take a conversation absolutely anywhere but replaces the whimsy with pure fume - personally i think it makes him his own voice, one that’s unique and absolute cinema when crazy stuff happens - i just wish there were more guest appearances on the pod, think while Dave loves to talk a bunch, he always asks some banger questions and does well bouncing off the right partner!... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Questions Day Is Back: The Two Footed Podcast
Q: What about Pochettino and the US job—where should he go if not the US?
If not the US, he could be a fit for a big club like Newcastle or a top national team where he can implement a clear project, but staying with the US for another tournament could also make strategic sense given the timing with the Gold Cup and World Cup cycles.
Questions Day Is Back: The Two Footed Podcast
Q: Can you explain why it went wrong with Ernest Lough?
Several factors combined: egos and complacency after a title win, poor squad management and reluctance to play younger players, ineffective adaptation to new signings, and tactical rigidity that failed when opponents adjusted.
SPL Drama: The Two Footed Podcast
Q: I've seen Jassily linked to the Chelsea job. If and when he returns to European football, what do you think is the ideal job for him?
They weigh several options across Europe, with Stuttgart highlighted as the top fit due to its big club profile and Champions League setup, while other London-based or English clubs like Fulham or Brighton could also work depending on circumstances.
The Final Whistle: Game Week 33 - Moyes Misery & Advantage City!
Q: So Ben, do you still think City can win the title despite Arsenal's recent form and the remaining fixtures?
Yes, City still have the quality and depth when fully firing, and while Arsenal aren't flawless, City's consistency in big games could tilt it back in their favor if they maintain momentum and Arsenal stumble in a couple of fixtures.
Man City Go Top: The Two Footed Podcast
Q: Right, welcome back. So, questions day. We have four questions. Let's jump straight in. MacJT, if Liverpool decide to go full summer of 2015 again and keep Slott until the top manager is ready, who are some players Slott would aim to sign?
The answer speculates on potential signings, mentioning players like Tijani Reinders and other names discussed as transfer targets, framing it as a hypothetical continuation of Klopp-era recruitment and a hypothetical control scenario for Slott.
