Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode #153 - Patreon-Exclusive Mailbag
Q: David Greaveson asks about the rotten core of the club and where to point the magic wand for change, seeking an on-field focus for improvement?
The host acknowledges a perceived systemic issue with continuity in coaching and leadership, argues for a substantive break in the old regime, and emphasizes rebuilding from the ground up with a focus on on-field improvements and new leadership.
Episode #153 - Patreon-Exclusive Mailbag
Q: Niall McNally poses a hypothetical about finishing bottom and starting from scratch, asking if Jepson or the club should accept those terms given contract implications?
The host firmly rejects the idea, arguing that sacrificing a Super League stay for a potential short-term reset risks long-term stability and noting Wakefield's path as one potential but not advisable; emphasizes building a capable squad rather than capitulating contracts.
Episode #153 - Patreon-Exclusive Mailbag
Q: Matthew Kidd asks, What do we think of Seven Nation Army being used as the walkout music?
The host isn't bothered by the choice, suggesting it should work to rally the crowd, but notes the importance of the crowd actually engaging and that the music alone isn't the full solution; a suggestion is made to possibly tweak the words to better suit the team and chant dynamics.
Episode #161 - Cook, York (A) & The Tigers' 12-Month Progress
Q: What are your initial thoughts on the Damian Cook signing beyond the initial shock?
Cook's pedigree suggests he could be a game-changing leadership figure who can handle big minutes and raise both the level of play and the team's overall professionalism, with potential off-field leadership and mentoring impact.
