Must have a huge ego to not edit out all the uhs and ahs and ums. Wastes a lot of our time—and it’s worth going through some because the guests are NOT lame.
Keith is a thoughtful designer and critic. He has a strong yet developing point of view, and he talks openly about his failures. His efforts to build a more complete vocabulary for game design have been instructive to me as an amateur designer.
Love Keith’s bold views, discussion of how to design deep strategy games, and insights into his own projects.
Keith was one of the first co-hosts on Roguelike Radio and it has been a real pleasure listening to his thinking about games mature as he works in the field. This is the only podcast I listen to where I put up with the host monologue-ing for any length of time, and it’s because he always has something interesting to say.
The host is not afraid to share his opinions on game design theory, which are almost always grounded in some form of reasoning or understanding.
If you’re a fan of game design theory crafting, and aren’t afraid of listening to someone with a differing opinion, this is a must have cast!
Keep up the great work 👍
