Reviews

4.2 out of 5 stars from 16 ratings
  • Sigh

Unfortunately having to give one star as a podcast claiming to be about the business side of the industry raised the possibility of Kenny Omega leaving AEW for Impact. The equivalent of suggesting Leonardo Dicaprio may decide to only make movies for The Asylum going forward! Very foolish.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

251 - Brian Solomon, author of Irresistible Force, The Life and Times of Gorilla Monsoon!
Q: What do you think about the Savannah Bananas and pro wrestling?
Watching the Savannah Bananas was interesting. It seemed like they were genuinely playing and not just putting on a performance, though some parts had a wrestling flair.
251 - Brian Solomon, author of Irresistible Force, The Life and Times of Gorilla Monsoon!
Q: Did you ever consider writing a book about anybody else before you kind of, when you finished Sheik and then before you wrote Gorilla?
I had in mind doing an Antonino Rocca biography, as he was a huge star in the 50s, and that modern wrestling is more influenced by him than any other wrestler of his time.
251 - Brian Solomon, author of Irresistible Force, The Life and Times of Gorilla Monsoon!
Q: Tell us about the process, the research and putting this bad boy together. The life and times, the Irresistible Force, Gorilla Monsoon.
The research process was long. I did like 30 or 40 interviews and wanted to have everything in place before starting to craft the story.
Episode 241 - RAF, Sukeban, CMLL, AAA, AEW, Max, NWA, Roku, WWE, GCW & more!
Q: How important is it to get people aware of the product as compared to putting it behind a paywall?
It's a 50-50 situation; you want visibility but worry about giving away content for free.
Episode 234 - Daniel Archambeault-May, Executive Director at Savmar Media/Savoldi Wrestling Library
Q: What is your favorite library content?
Daniel mentions Bob Loose's Monsters of the Mat as one of the most entertaining things they have in their library.
