  • Canadian Artists

I like the music selections but enjoy learning about Canadian artists because this material doesn’t seem to get much AirPlay anywhere else.

  • It doesn’t suck!

As advertised, this has plenty of Christian music that doesn’t suck. This podcast has introduced me to new artists and given me a deeper appreciation for this I already like. The interviews of the artists produce interesting and often unexpected answers. Love it!

  • Dave has had YEARS of experience with The Antidote as a radio show and while its syndication footprint continues to grow, it's often really convenient to simply download and listen later. This show is worth your subscription and time. While Dave's tastes are broad and probably wider than your own, you can trust that he'll bring you interesting interviews, musical gems, and well thought out thematic episodes as well as introduce you to a lot of great new artists! I've found several new favorites ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 746: Feed’Em
Q: You've mentioned acceptance in schools versus mainstream festivals. How do you balance crossover with staying true to your faith?
The balance comes from recognizing your calling, scripting your own lane, and choosing venues where your message resonates, while being mindful of areas that won't accept preaching; progression may lead to mainstream spaces, but the priority is faithful representation and sowing seeds in every setting.
Episode 746: Feed’Em
Q: So why did you give Not for the Radio that title, and what does it signify?
Not for the Radio is a double entendre: it means we don't seek mainstream approval, and it reflects the grime era's struggle against barriers and segregation; it's about building a culture and staying true to our beliefs even if not accepted publicly.
Episode 744: Carsen Gray
Q: Is social media a curse, or can it be used in a way that honors faith and family?
Carsen Gray discussed it as a distraction that can pull people away, emphasizing the need to prioritize faith, family, and a Christ-centered life over self-promotion and worldly validation.
Episode 696: The Covers, part 15 – Diatheke
Q: How did your Extol obsession influence the band's chemistry and the decision to cover this particular song?
Our Extol obsession created a strong bond among us, making it natural to pour that admiration into a collaboration that not only honors Extol but also introduces new dynamics through Peter's voice and our reinterpretation of the track.
Episode 696: The Covers, part 15 – Diatheke
Q: Why did you choose Embraced from Extol for your cover, and what did you hope to achieve with its recording?
We chose Embraced because it sits at a perfect middle ground of technicality, melody, and aggression, and it presented an ideal way to showcase Peter as the new vocalist while giving the track a refreshed, modern feel without losing its core energy.
