  • So useful & insightful!

This is my fav beauty podcast. When a series ends, I can’t wait for the next one to start. I’m in the U.K., but many of the brands Carli & Bettina talk about are also available here. A lot of their discussions are also more general, for example how an ingredient works, and they have amazing guests on, so I learn a lot of useful things. And it’s also really interesting to hear about the beauty landscape in Australia. Love!

The Skincare Advice No One Tells You After 40 (Let Alone 50+)
Q: What should someone start with if they're overwhelmed by skincare after 50?
Prioritize a great sunscreen, then a nourishing moisturizer, and if tolerable, introduce a retinoid gradually over moisturizer to build tolerance and maintain skin health.
The Skincare Advice No One Tells You After 40 (Let Alone 50+)
Q: What are the biggest skincare mistakes you commonly see in patients over 50?
Common mistakes include over-exfoliating, skipping sunscreen, chasing trends rather than sticking to stable routines, and under-moisturizing after menopause when the skin becomes drier and more sensitive.
The Skincare Advice No One Tells You After 40 (Let Alone 50+)
Q: Does all this skincare advice apply to women in their 60s and beyond, or does it shift again as people age further?
The guidance remains individualized, but the core priorities—protective sunscreen, barrier-supporting moisturizers, and a tolerable retinoid or alternative—continue to apply. As age increases, focus often shifts toward skin health, comfort, and simple, sustainable routines, with a careful balance of actives to protect the barrier.
Makeup Tricks That'll Actually Make a Difference, with James Vincent
Q: Is there a single pro tip everyday users can adopt to instantly improve makeup?
Use a combination of lengthening and volumizing mascaras and apply gloss only to the center of the lips to create a contoured, light-catching effect.
Makeup Tricks That'll Actually Make a Difference, with James Vincent
Q: What are the biggest mistakes people make with makeup application?
Primers can be overused or misapplied; matching products by texture and composition (water-based vs oil-based vs silicone-based) is crucial to prevent separation and shine.
