Stephanie Beatriz is fantastic as the determined and lawful Texas Ranger trying to enact justice in a cruel and corrupt world. The three two-part cases are gripping stories, standalone in plot but containing some running themes and continuing strands. I admire how much development even minor characters receive, which really brings the world alive rather than feeling like a star vehicle.
It's just a shame there's no sign of a second season but I'd love to experience more Tejana.
