  • Great Show and some ChatGPT feedback

Just wanna say awesome show and also your episode about Google antitrust just bothered me that nobody on the panel knew how to clear the ChatGPT memories. It's in the settings under personalization, manage memories. There you can delete all (or some). Now after doing that, ask ChatGPT again what it knows about you and the answer will be it knows nothing. Now who knows if it truly purges it, but just wanted to share that.

  • Never thought I would enjoy a Tech show so much

I consider myself knowledgeable about thing happening in the world including technology and social media, but I never considered myself a tech person I added this podcast to my feed more than a year ago and I have found it to be informative. Mikah gives the full picture of technology, mechanics, and implications on humans.

TNW 434: Is This Framework's Linux MacBook? - Framework's Take on the Pro Laptop
Q: What is the state of backward compatibility and how does that affect the upgrade strategy for existing Laptop 13 owners?
Hollister describes the modular expansion approach where users can swap ports, memory, and even the motherboard with upgrade kits, while noting some components are not 100% backward compatible but the system is designed to be nearly so, enabling meaningful future upgrades.
TNW 434: Is This Framework's Linux MacBook? - Framework's Take on the Pro Laptop
Q: Can you walk us through the display trade-offs and what Framework told you about the 28K display on the 13 Pro?
The guest explains it's a fully custom display designed for the chassis, with a taller 3:2 aspect, 700 nits brightness, and complete color calibration across units, but acknowledges that 100% sRGB may be limiting for creators needing Adobe RGB or wider color gamuts.
TNW 434: Is This Framework's Linux MacBook? - Framework's Take on the Pro Laptop
Q: What makes Framework position this as the MacBook Pro for Linux users, in terms of the overall ecosystem and upgrade path?
Hollister notes that Framework differentiates itself with true upgradability—users can upgrade motherboard, memory, and display, which keeps the machine relevant longer, especially for developers who want to swap parts instead of buying a new laptop.
TNW 434: Is This Framework's Linux MacBook? - Framework's Take on the Pro Laptop
Q: Could you tell us a little bit about the key upgrades that make the Framework Laptop 13 Pro a significant leap from the company's previous models?
Sean Hollister explains that the 13 Pro centers on modularity and a more premium chassis, including 6000 series aluminum, a refined trackpad, a slightly smaller but high-quality feel, and the ability to upgrade components via replaceable motherboards, memory, and even display upgradable kits.
TNW 435: Inside the Musk-Altman Trial With Jacob Ward - Tech Leaders Facing Off in Court
Q: How does the nine-member jury influence the tech debate, and what does that say about democratic input into tech progress?
The hosts/guests suggested that while the jury may not understand every technical detail, their collective judgment represents a form of democratic influence on the direction of tech and governance, which is powerful in shaping public outcomes.
