I’m a horror audiodrama junkie, and usually the best I can hope for is ‘wow, this would probably be really scary to someone who wasn’t as desensitized as I am after 45 years of horror’, but during the very first episode, I felt the tension in my body and realized how my fists were clenched during the chase scene. It really got to me! Even the part that followed had me on the edge of my seat. Two thumbs up! 💕
A bit like Mabel 😱💕
great show, i found it via reddit where one of the creators recommended it. i really enjoyed it. great story, great acting and i enjoyed the neatly tied up ending (something a lot of audio dramas seem to lack). as someone who’s been listening to audio drama in some form for the past 10 years (help, i’m old) this was really great!
I love the concept of a podcast within a podcast – It’s like an updated version of the “found footage” or “found tape” genre of audio fiction. The series is delightfully eerie.
Don't let the frame fool you. Yes, it's found footage, and yes, it's podcast-within-a-podcast. But this show is clever about weaving the two frames together, giving us not only the story of the Trapped Man on the tapes, but the impact these recordings have had on the podcasters presenting them. As one story unspools, the other tightens up, adding to the overall tension. Especially effective is the performance of Trapped Man, facing despair and isolation, and the frightening world he describes.
Happy to stumble across this podcast and surprised it's not more popular.
I was REALLY intrigued by these tapes and this story. However, the forced and scripted “banter” is excruciating! From the second episode I was doubting the genuineness of the friendship between the co-hosts. It sounds like a bad radio drama! The created drama with her sister is very convenient. Really interesting concept, but such bad quality.
Great podcast!! Binged in one night!! Highly recommend!!
