  • Shame

It’s such a shame they put this podcast behind a paywall as I really liked it. It’s a sensible view on topical issues which was good to hear. I’m absolutely not going to pay £4 a month for one podcast though. Purely out of principle more than anything. Too many subscription models these days and to pay one for a single show is ridiculous.

  • Welcome back

I was an avid weekly fan of the BBC Scotland media review, so disappointed when it was axed. I discovered this podcast a few weeks ago. Great listen.

Entertaining, informative and humorous. I find Radio Scotland news so disappointing now: viewers views; who cares, not me.

Perhaps a guest from the ‘other side’ would be a challenge.

  • Nationalist views

This is an interesting series of podcasts and the format is effective. However, the views expressed are predominantly nationalist views and this is very clear in every episode I have listened to. Each guest seems to be a nationalist pal who just re- enforces the hosts bias. In terms of the hosts that’s fair enough but the guests should be someone who challenges rather than just plays the same tune. This doesn’t need to be binary but have some guests who are not obvious nationalists - this doesn... more

  • Telly Shouter, again 😎

If I agreed with everything and everyone on this pod it would be an utter waste of a listen, intelligent high & occasionally low brow real good listen, I’m embarrassed that I haven’t already fully subscribed to support this ‘island of unsweetened media reporting’ a wee gem.

I will do this ASAP 👍

A must listen to all other ‘Telly Shouters’ take the ‘medicine’ when available 😂

My recommendation on top of this if I can be rude! Is pod by RTE Brexit Republc

Q: What is your take on the legality of the war and its implications for allies in the region?
The legality matters a great deal because it frames international support and justifies actions to allies; without clear legal footing, it risks eroding trust and weakening the legitimacy of the campaign among Gulf states and Western partners.
In Conversation with John Swinney, First Minister of Scotland
Q: Will the media play a critical role in the next elections?
The media will play a part in the election campaign. Of that, I have no doubt.
In Conversation with John Swinney, First Minister of Scotland
Q: Do you feel on trial by the media, John?
I feel that there is a constant scrutiny of what I am doing and how I'm going about that.
‘Gaza’, ‘The SNP Conference’ and ‘Prince Andrew’ with David Pratt
Q: Do you think Hamas will disarm and if so, in what form?
By all accounts, Hamas is expected to disarm certain components of their arsenal, but they are resistant to give up small arms as they want to maintain a degree of security within Gaza.
‘Glastonbury’, ‘Labour’s Welfare Bill’ and ‘Crime in Scotland’
Q: What are the implications of allowing such chants during a live performance?
Allowing such statements can lead to misconceptions about the broadcaster's stance on political issues, especially if the audience perceives it as an endorsement.
