From the title I was worried this show would lean too heavily into Australian cliches - but thankfully not the case. While the narration is a little theatrical at times (particularly the openings), the episodes are well structured and surprisingly nuanced in the conclusions drawn (i.e was it paranormal or psychological).

The host crafts intimate, cinema-like storytelling that respects victims and families while inviting listeners to think critically about each case. The show tends to mix well-known mysteries with lesser-known Australian tales, delivering a strong sense of place and cultural context that keeps audiences coming back for more weekly installments. A standout trait is its steady emphasis on narrative craft, transparency about uncertainties, and a wil... more
