So enjoy all the great stories that Crista rounds up for this podcast! I am the genealogist for our family and have been inspired to collect all the stories now. I have listened to all the podcasts and can’t wait for the new ones! I also appreciate all that Crista has taught me about the ancestry.com website through her zoom classes. She’s the best!
Family history is more than the piles of old letters that I am now sorting through now, some 30+ years after my grandmother passed away, which describe the early years of Hawaiian Pineapple when she and my grandfather were “two of the eighteen whites on the island [Lana’i].” I would love to have heard the stories in person.
The importance of hearing these stories in person either from those who have lived them or are reliving them by passing them on is one of the most important aspects of this p... more
This podcast just checks all the boxes for me! Wonderful everyday people as guests, bubbly and interesting host, great historical stories, and of course genealogy tips along the way. I’ve listened to all the episodes, and consume the next one the morning it drops. Sometimes I just miss Christa so I go back and listen to one of the older ones again. So very fun, and she is the perfect host for this format.
I appreciate the podcast. As our “family story keeper” I have been gathering out stories for over 60+ years. I have tried to pass them on by writing them down and telling them. I always love hearing other people’s stories. Thank you.
Family, connection, belonging. We long for it! These stories inspire and encourage me to learn more about my own family and give me more tools to do so!
